Testimonial: I have developed my own “business case” for becoming accredited. As the president of an independent strategic public relations and marketing communication practice, I will be able to use my Accreditation to differentiate myself in the marketplace. Preparing for the test and using the knowledge acquired to obtain my APR has also given me renewed confidence. It’s much like when I took business classes in 2002. I knew how to “do PR,” but I didn’t know how to be a business owner. Today, I know more about being the head of a company, but I need to continue to learn about our field in light of new technologies, potential growth and opportunities, and business appreciation of the discipline. I consider the time, effort and energy used to obtain my APR an investment in my professional self. I would encourage others to consider their own personal business case when they are making the decision to pursue their APR. |
