Newly accredited members who are a part of a chapter within the Southwest District can apply using the stipend application below.

Did you know Southwest District/PRSA offers an APR stipend program for members who earn the APR?

The stipends are given to the first candidates who pass the exam, meet the requirements and apply for the stipend each year. The process is quick and easy, and a great way to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our newest APRs. Click here for: APR Stipend.

Greater Fort Worth Chapter Sings the Value of APR - Watch YouTube Skit

Carolyn Bobo, APR, accreditation chair of PRSA/Greater Fort Worth chapter, has shared this short skit from their April 2013 chapter meeting -- if you don't have your APR, look no further than this tremendous song and dance routine for inspiration. Andra Bennett, APR, provides lead vocals with APR backup singers Linda Jacobson, APR (purple boa), and Sandra Rodnicki, APR (blue boa). Strike up the APR band!

APR: Melissa Monroe-Young, APR PDF Print E-mail

2015 APR Stipend Recipient
Melissa Monroe-Young, APR
San Antonio Chapter of PRSA

Testimonial:

Melissa 1Rather than pursuing another master's degree, I felt earning the APR would give me the knowledge and resources that I needed to be more effective in my job. It would teach me how to write an effective communications plan, measurement practices and how to think strategically.

Of course, all my duties made studying hard and I didn't pass the test on the first time. But I felt like I came too far and too close to passing to give up and kept on until I achieved those three little letters.

Even if I took time off from studying and decided to pursue my APR at a later date, just what I learned in the process is priceless and I would do it all over again
